To recap four weeks of TV

Did you hear? I have a new baby.  It's true.  And with my new baby comes my new past time-- rocking Chickie while watching endless hours of television.  And with all these accumulated hours of entertainment I have noticed a few things.

Like every time the Today Show is going to commercial and they tease an upcoming interview they always cut to the person sitting in the studio looking at the camera.  Which would be fine, except they keep the camera on them too long for comfort and the person is left awkwardly smiling and eventually their eyes start to look a little worried. It's like they're posing for a picture but the camera never clicks. It leaves me embarrassed every time. And speaking of the Today Show and awkwardness, I hate when they interview common folk who obviously don't know how to give more than a one word answer.

In addition to the Today Show, I have been watching a lot of HGTV.  Did you see the episode where David Bromstad asks for a turn blowing a glass globe?  I couldn't believe they didn't edit it out-- it was a little, uh, suggestive.  I half expected to see the clip on Tosh.0 later in the day.  Don't get me started on Tosh.0... Poor Chickie, every time I'm feeding her and watching that show I can't help but laugh out loud, seriously jolting her concentration.

When my kids are around, we watch age appropriate shows like Unsolved Mysteries and 1,000 Ways to Die (just kidding, kind of).  But really, say what you will about Good Luck Charlie (like the fact that the show takes place in "Colorado" but looks eerily like Pasadena) and maybe it's because I've watched too much, but that mom cracks me up.  Not to mention it's refreshing to see a show where there is actually a mom.

And for my local readers... Bertha Lynne is a snob, Adele Arakawa needs a new hairstyle, Kathy Sabin thinks she's too cute, Kirk Montgomery needs to lay off the botox, and I'm pretty sure Amelia Earhart got a boob job (not that there's anything wrong with that).

You crack me up. I agree with everything, and I don't have any excuse to watch this much TV!

Yes, yes and yes.

GLC (Good Luck Charlie) is growing on me and the Mom is pretty hilarious.

When is Unsolved Mysteries on? Remember when that show freaked us out?!

I also think Amelia was "enhanced". Remember she moved to California, then she came back? Well, I think she tried her luck in the big city and it didn't work out. I think she wears the glasses to offset the boobage....

Is Tosh.0 on TV or the internet (picture me imitating Mom trying to work a remote or cell phone--sorry Mom!)?

You need to watch telemundo! They have a latino version of america's got talent. You can't understand what they are saying, but it's pretty clear america does have more talent! Recap that:)

So this is what I have to look forward to?

I've banned Disney in my house. I can't stand the way all the kids treat the parents. Plus, it makes my girls think they are going to pop or dance stars and that's just not gonna happen.

I think I'll just keep it on the food channel. But, that just makes me want to eat.

Good luck Emily!
