Another entry for mother of the year
Last night I attended a baby shower for a friend of mine. I got there a little late and upon entering I said some hellos and helped myself to the good food. I went and sat down thinking that no one had mentioned that I didn't have chickie.
But then my friend Niki said, "so you got away without the baby", and I started to tell her that yes, I got away but was certain Jared would be calling any minute to tell me she was awake and crying when it occurred to me that at the last minute my original plan to leave her at home changed and that I had brought her with me! Poor chickie was waiting patiently in the car.
I can't believe I totally forgot her out there! Everyone consoled me telling stories about the times they forgot their babies. I felt like one of those moms that you see on the news who leaves their baby in the car while they spend three hours in the bar. Except it wasn't the bar and it was only about five minutes.

One more story to console you: I left Halle in the car when I took Velzy and Avery to their dance recital. Same thing the original plan was for her to go in Nathans car. At the last second he put her in mine. I got there got the girls in and when he got there he said where's Halle? I frantically ran out to the car to get her. She didn't even know she was alone. (I still have guilt.)
It's for nuggets like these that I read your blog. I totally laughed out loud.
I can't help but laugh! It's not funny, but at the same time it is. I'm surprised you went back in. I would have faked an illness and gone home. At least that way no one would know but me! At least you haven't dumped her out of her car seat...yet!
Thats ok Ken forgot Avery in the car the day we were supposed to get sealed to her. With her birthmom watching ..oh ya good times
